Here’s some handy advice for your first trip to see us at Xtend Barre:
Arrive 20 minutes early.
Grip socks are required. You can bring your own or we have some for purchase.
Bring a towel and water bottle.
We have lockers, changing rooms, and restrooms available for your use.
Entry into class is not permitted 5 minutes after the start of class.
Let your instructor know if you have any injuries or are pregnant. They are happy to help with
modifications throughout class.
If you need to change your class, be sure to do so at least within the cancellation period.
Xtend Barre Manly offers something on the timetable for everyone and every body, you can join multi–level, safe, fun and extremely effective fitness classes under the eyes of expert trainers who work with you on your individual goals.
Programs include Xtend Barre, Xtend Stick, Xtend Sweat, Xtend Stretch and Xtend Babies on Board.
Passionate about fitness and training, Adam Nable is a former professional athlete with a successful career playing first grade Rugby League both in Sydney and overseas. After retiring from football Adam spent 6 years in New York working in the finance sector before returning to Sydney with his wife, Liz, and young family and to his one true passion, health and fitness.
A fully qualified personal trainer, Adam is an expert in the latest Kinesis resistance training from Technogym, known as FHIIT Camp classes in our Mosman studio. Adam is also the creator of Xtend Barre’s newest workout, aimed at getting more men to the barre, Xtend Barre Circuit 7.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sports Media, Elizabeth embarked on a media and journalism career working as a producer and presenter for in TV News, including 6 years in the news capital of the world, New York City.
It was while she was living in New York that Liz discovered the barre workout. ‘I took two to three classes a week and had never been in better shape! I loved it because no matter how many times I went, the class was always a challenging workout and could be modified to suit any level of fitness – from beginner to advanced.’
After returning to Sydney with her husband, Adam and young children, she was keen to spread the word about this amazing fusion of dance and Pilates. Xtend Barre is the premier ballet barre workout in the US and Liz was delighted to be able to establish her first studio in Mosman, then shortly after a second studio in Manly, and finally a third studio in one of her favourite spots on the Northern Beaches, Mona Vale.
Ashley fell in love with ballet at the age of 3 and continued dancing full-time until she was 18. Fitness has always been a big part of Ashley’s life and she is a qualified personal trainer specialising in Group Fitness.
In her first Xtend Barre class, Ashley felt like she was in her element with her two loves of ballet and fitness fused into one. She loves the amazing full body workout that challenges all fitness levels.
Adelaide grew up dancing on Sydney’s northern beaches and hasn’t stopped. She has performed as a professional cabaret and contemporary dancer and choreographer throughout Australia, Europe and Asia, for the past 10 years. Overseas highlights include the Moulin Rouge in Paris for 3 years, and she is currently performing on Sydney Showboats as dance captain.
Adelaide has also trained in Stott Mat Pilates, is a Level 1 Sports Trainer, and is studying to become a Physiotherapist.
Hailing from Scotland, Emily comes to Xtend Barre from a solid dance background. Having studied jazz, contemporary and tap in Edinburgh she holds a BA(Hons) and Post-Grad diploma from London Contemporary Dance School.
Now settled in Australia, Emily found ‘Xtend’ as the perfect combination of dance technique and weight training;
“It’s low-impact on my joints yet chisels muscles I never knew I had.”
Emily is not only one of our senior instructors, she is also a freelance dance artist, choreographer and teacher.
Emily loves to challenge clients and test their strength and stamina but with a killer playlist in the background! Her classes are fun and energetic: You can’t help but leave the studio sweaty and smiling!
Amy started dancing at the tender age of 3 and continued performing arts right throughout her school years with a ballet scholarship at SCECGS Redlands and, finally graduating from Brent Street Performing Arts in 2006. From her dancing and performing career, Amy eventually moved into acting and presenting and continues to be active in this industry.
Amy discovered Xtend Barre 4 years ago and instantly fell in love. The full body work out was like nothing she had ever experienced and so close to her dancing roots, it was a natural step to move into teaching it!
Amy loves witnessing the amazing results this full-body workout brings her clients everyday.
Shelley discovered at an early age how movement and music can re-energise both body and soul.
Growing up in New Zealand, Shelley took every opportunity to ‘get physical’ through participation in team sports and performance through her many years of jazz, ballet and dance.
A previously dedicated gym junkie, Shelley found her ultimate physical workout when she first tried Xtend Barre in 2014. Shelley loves the physical challenge of the workout and the motivation that the music provides to support the achievement of fitness goals.
Working as an Xtend Barre instructor allows Shelley to keep her body and soul balanced with the business of her life as a make-up artist.
She is keen to share her passion and motivation for Xtend Barre with you.
Coraline grew up in Tahiti spending all of her free time at her local dance studio dreaming of the day she would open her own ballet school and share her passion for dance with others. At age 17, she moved to Australia to pursue her studies and soon discovered Xtend Barre, and quickly fell in love. The intensive work out sculpts strong ballerina bodies and a gorgeous dancer’s physique and now Coco has a new passion to share!
Yvette is a dancer/performer/certified personal trainer with a degree in dance and theatre. Her passion as a dancer has continued in her fitness career and she is now a sought after instructor in Pilates and Yoga, having taught both overseas and around Australia. Yvette has a Certificate 3 and 4 in fitness and is a certified Mat and Equipment Pilates Instructor. Her energy and enthusiasm for fitness is evident in all her classes at both Xtend Barre Mosman & Manly.
The moment Ebony went to her first Xtend Barre class two and a half years ago, she was immediately hooked!
After completing a double degree in Law/Arts Ebony decided to follow her passion for fitness and dance and become an Xtend Barre instructor.
Ebony has competed in Physie from the tender age of three years old and has been teaching various levels since the age of 14, so it was a natural progression to take on Xtend Barre!
Ebony loves how each class is different so you never get bored your whole body gets a challenging workout every single time! It never gets easy, but that’s the best part.
Angie’s love affair with Xtend Barre started in our Mosman studio on the very first day we opened in June 2012.
Four years later, Angie is now committed to helping others unlock their own inner Xtend Barre addict – recognising that while no two bodies are the same, one simple truth unites all her clients…..’the stronger you are, the better you feel’.
Angie aims to help her clients find their inner grace and their strongest selves.
Emma has been involved in Dance and Fitness from an early age. Growing up in Perth, Western Australia she has performed professionally on TV and live theatre. Emma graduated from University of Western Australia with a BSc and Dip Ed and taught at High Schools in WA and Victoria majoring in Dance Studies, PE and Human Biology. Now residing in Sydney, Emma first tried Xtend Barre in 2012 and was instantly hooked.
