Did you know that a large portion of a professional dancer’s weekly training regime is based on strength and conditioning training?

At Xtend Barre, we’re bringing this strength and conditioning training from the ballet barre to the masses. No twirling around the room here – just strong and powerful movements that are guaranteed to tone, tighten and empower.

One of the most important elements in all of our Xtend Barre classes is training your core properly. Learning how to engage those deep abdominal muscles and using them for the entire 55-minutes in each class.

But right when you thought Xtend Barre was challenging enough, we’ve taken your core training to the next level, with a one-of-a-kind program that incorporates a 45-centimeter fitball to train your core like a professional dancer’s – the ultimate fitball workout.

Xtend Barre Fitball is available at a number of our studios nationwide. The unique workout takes signature Xtend Barre exercises, such as the plank, plank into pike, side leg lifts and single leg plies, and incorporates the fitball to deeply challenge the body’s balance and coordination.

A plank is tough enough on its own. Add in a fitball, and your deep core muscles engage immediately, as your body attempts to balance at the same time.

Strengthening these core muscles not only leads to a flatter and more toned belly, but also a stronger and more supported spine.
